On Friday June 17th, SWN had the honor of hosting our annual meeting. The purpose of the annual meeting is to celebrate the accomplishments of the organization and its stakeholders and to provide additional visibility to SWN’s accomplishments as the leader in workforce development of the Susquehanna Region.
This year, our keynote speaker was Mika J. Cross, an award winning workplace transformation strategist. Mika presented the “Changing Nature of Work”, top trending workforce issues affecting employers and the workforce today.
MICROSOFT OFFICE TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION and CUSTOMER SERVICE COURSE DESCRIPTION
Instructor-led training course providing students w hands-on training
with Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) objectives in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The training
program will provide participants with the skills to pass the MO-100 (Word), the MO-200 (Excel),
and the MO-300 (PowerPoint) exam. Microsoft Office Specialist certification is the only globally
recognized certification.
Students will earn a certification for each exam they pass; however, if a student earns a certification
on all three exams (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), they will become a Microsoft Office
Specialist – Associate and earn an additional certification for their accomplishment.

Word Associate – Transforms ideas into professional documents
Excel Associate – Reveal trends and gain insights with powerful analysis tools
PowerPoint Associate – Enhance the ability to communicate with an audience
National Customer Service Association – Certified Customer Service Professional
Additionally, a 20-hour training on customer service will be included. Students will receive instruction on the following customer service topics: Foundations of Service, Human Dynamics, Customer Interaction, Employer Development, and Application Scenarios. This training will prepare students to take the Certified Customer Service Professional (CCSP) examination for certification at the end of the course. The CCSP Certification is offered through the National Customer Service Association. Upon passing the exam, students will receive the CCSP Certification.
PROGRAM TIMELINE AND POLICIES
The class meets on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students are required to attend all scheduled classes. Students should inform the instructor of any days that they are unable to attend class
MICROSOFT OFFICE SPECIALIST (MOS) ASSOCIATE LEVEL EXAM OBJECTIVES
Students will gain skills on the specific objective domains listed below using Microsoft Word,
Excel and PowerPoint 365/2019 to earn the Associate Level certification.
MICROSOFT OFFICE SPECIALIST WORD CERTIFICATION
Certification candidates will demonstrate their ability to perform several
Word tasks, such as creating and managing documents, formatting text,
paragraphs, and sections, creating tables and lists, applying references, and
inserting and formatting objects.
MICROSOFT OFFICE SPECIALIST EXCEL CERTIFICATION
Certification candidates will demonstrate the fundamentals of creating and
managing worksheets and workbooks, creating cells and ranges, creating tables,
applying formulas and functions, and creating charts and objects.
MICROSOFT OFFICE SPECIALIST POWERPOINT CERTIFICATION
Certification candidates will demonstrate their ability to create and manage
presentations, insert and format shapes and slides, create slide content, apply
transitions and animations, and manage multiple presentations.
