WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
The Susquehanna Workforce Network, Inc. (SWN) is a private, non-profit corporation that oversees, coordinates, or plans workforce development programs and services for businesses and individuals in Cecil and Harford Counties in northeastern Maryland. SWN seeks to identify needs and develop solutions that maximize regional economic success and worker potential.
Our organization represents an affiliation of more than 50 local businesses, institutions, and agencies that work collaboratively to implement and maintain a system of education, training, employment, and outreach programs or services that are responsive to local economic challenges and designed to meet the needs of businesses, workers, and youth. Our Board of Directors also functions as the Susquehanna Region's Workforce Investment Board.
Strategic Goals
SWN, the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and the region's workforce partnership are committed to the following strategic goals:
- Meet the workforce development needs of the business community
- Create a workforce development system that produces the best-educated and most highly skilled workforce in Maryland
- Create a labor market system that provides job seekers, incumbent workers, students, out-of-school youth, and businesses the labor market and training information and assistance they need
- Create a governance system focused on unified planning, continuous improvement and accountability
